With Eyes Toward Home

INSPIRED BY LILO

Losing your child is unimaginable. Despite having experienced it with you Lauryn Adelie, I struggle still with fully understanding. And yet throughout the agony we carry, we believe you’ve played a role in helping us carry a peace that’s equally incomprehensible.

Today, on the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi and also the day you were baptized three years ago, I have felt a conviction toward gathering the moments of light—the moments that remind us of how close you now are to Jesus, the mission your heavenly self now carries, and the ways you inspire me to learn from you as you were here and all that you share with me as you share in the glorious promise held for each of us. These help me keep my eyes toward our true home.

I am in awe of you. I pray that you keep our family close. That you inspire us to faithfully build His kingdom. And that through the grace of God, we can one day be warmly welcomed by you when our time comes. I love you with my whole heart.

If you’ve made it here, thank you for keeping my family in prayer and walking this pilgrimage with us. This is a special place for me. You’re welcome to receive emails whenever we write publicly about Lilo by subscribing (select No Pledge), and it is so appreciated when you choose to share your encounters with her, with us.
